Event Description

One Brick is volunteering at the 19th annual Philadelphia Marathon! It's sure to be a fantastic time. This year is exceptionally special since they are opening an extra 3,000 slots to runners that were not able to participate in the NYC marathon.

What we'll be doing

We're working in the Kid's Fun Run! We'll act as ambassadors in the Finish Area. We'll be available to assist in any way that the Kids Coordinator and captains deem necessary from water, medals, security, and food to directing and assisting kids to meet with their families once the event is complete.

What you should know

Dress for the weather. The run is outside. Wear comfortable shoes.

Where to meet

Meet no later than 9AM at the site listed.

Organization: Philadelphia Marathon

Philadelphia has been redefining what a great Marathon can be since 1994. Each year since then, on the third Sunday of November, the city hosts one of the country’s premiere Marathons along with a weekend-long series of events to celebrate both the run and the runners. Race weekend activities include a Health & Fitness Expo, Rothman Institute 8K, and Kids Fun Run—all leading up to the Marathon and Half Marathon races on Sunday. Our beautiful and scenic course winds past historic landmarks like Independence Hall, Benjamin Franklin's Burial Place, the National Constitution Center and the Liberty Bell, through urban neighborhoods such as Old City, University City, South Philadelphia and Manayunk, and along the gorgeous waterfronts of the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers. And you'd better get ready for the crowds. Each year, spectators line the course, eager to cheer on runners, because there's nothing we love more in this town than champions.
